I forgot to add this last night. This is their respective records on education:
CLINTON’S RECORD ON EDUCATION

* As staff attorney for the Children’s Defense Fund she helped pave the way for the Education for All Handicapped Children Act, the first time children with special needs were guaranteed the right to a free, appropriate public education.
* Brought Home Instruction Program for Preschool Youngsters to AR in order to better prepare all children to start school.
* As First Lady:
- promoted the Prescription for Reading program, encouraging pediatricians to “prescribe” that new parents read to their children
- She helped create Early Head Start
* As a senator, Hillary worked to reform and fully fund No Child Left Behind. She helped enact legislation to recruit and retain teachers and principals to high-need areas.

* In Illinois State Senate, Obama was a leader on early childhood education, helping create the state’s Early Learning Council.
* In the U.S. Senate, Obama has been a leader in working to make college more affordable. His very first bill sought to increase the maximum Pell Grant award to $5,100. As a member of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions committee, Obama helped pass legislation to achieve that goal in the recent improvements to the Higher Education Act.
* Obama has also introduced legislation to create Teacher Residency Programs and to increase federal support for summer learning opportunities.
